You don't need that 💩and neither do I. Said 💩we're talking about: Black Friday deals/doorbusters/blowouts/etc.
I know the 'how low can you go *in price*' game, please know I played it for many years, and days like Black Friday bring out our most competitive sides to win that game. Although I've always loved the second-hand life, cheap, cheaper, and cheapest was my other ♥️
It's STILL hard to pass up a killer deal.
BUT, I really do stop and think about the need for [insert cheap item] and what impact (environmental and other) its creation has had.
There will always be a time when we have to buy new, but my challenge to you - and to myself - is to really, really think about those purchases, make them as far and few between as possible, and make the most sustainable purchase possible when doing so.
So we're encouraging you to skip the madness of Black Friday this year and go all-in for Small Business Saturday. Shopping local gives you more control of knowing what you're buying, who you're supporting and allows you make a greater impact in your community.
***And don't forget to save a couple of bucks to throw at your favorite organization on Giving Tuesday - December 3rd!
