Let's help all the cool cats and kittens

I'm sure by this point you've seen Tiger King, and if not, you've heard about it (and if not, good on you for focusing your efforts on more productive things during social distancing). For those of us who have seen it (basically everyone and their mother, mine included), we watched the tale of Mr. Exotic and his *pals* 'Doc' and Jeff completely and disgustingly mistreat animals -- and women (people for that matter).   I am all for entertainment and then discussing said entertainment on all the social platforms, however, for every 20 tweets/posts/TikToks making fun of Tiger King, I might see one that talks about how f*cked up everything is in this documentary and what we can do to stop it. ...

Vacations on hold Pt. 1: Te Amo, Tulum

While we all take some time to turn inward, social distance, and also take a good hard look at who is being most greatly impacted by the pandemic (and start thinking what we need to do to change it!), I thought it would be the perfect time to flashback on a few trips -- since there won't be any happening, anytime soon. Without further adieu, I give you Tulum. The bachelorette party dreams are made of, for one of my besties, Kacey. There are a lot of options when it comes to purchasing fur, and also conflicting opinions when it comes to what is most ethical and sustainable. I found a great article from Refinery 29 “Faux Fur: Good For Ethics, Bad For The Planet?” if you want to read...

Caucus: 2020 🇺🇸

February 3rd, 2020, Iowans will take to the polls - our caucus locations! - to kick off the year we kick out the current president. No matter who you're supporting, we hope all Iowans get out and do some democracy-ing on Caucus Night. We may disagree on our fave candidate(s), but we can all agree they'll be better on so many issues we care about - LIKE CLIMATE CHANGE!!! - than DJT. So in honor of our upcoming big night, here's a little flashback in photos with the Dems seeking (or once seeking, RIP) the highest office in the land.

Going green: AS SEEN ON YOU

2020 is here, and that means so are all the resolutions we're attempting to fulfill (I'm right there with you, more on resolutions another day:) but for now - IMO, the simpler we can make it all, the happier we'll be. And that goes big time for going green(er) - a resolution many of us made for the new decade 💚 I get asked a lot about how to make sustainability a part of everyday life, and this question often comes with a little fear and a nervous undertone - followed by the 'what if I can't do it all' mentality that so many people have. My answer to that: F it and don't worry! Anything is something and a fabulous start. Do...
